About 
Tertius Publishing came about when the board of education at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware, IA, was looking for a good Lutheran Vacation Bible School curriculum. We found that, at that time, the VBS curricula offered by CPH avoided sacramental theology and didn't take a strong creationist stand. Since the sacraments in particular are at the core of our theology, we wanted a VBS that didn't just mention Baptism in passing, but made it a focus. We also wanted a Biblical theme running throughout the week instead of a focus on circuses, bugs, or the polar ice caps.
Our board consisted of the pastors' wife who is a synodically trained elementary school teacher with a music degree and preschool teaching experience, a substitute elementary school teacher with an art degree, and a member with many years of experience as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher.
Our first VBS, Trip of a Lifetime, was offered in the summer of 2004 and met with great success. Roughly half of the children were non-members, and all enjoyed the week and came away with a deeper knowledge of their Savior. Now, we are offering this curriculum to other churches with the hopes that the children of your congregations and communities will grow in faith as well.
We also provide discussion forums to share stories, discuss and answer questions about our materials.
