Confirmation Resources for Pastors and Teachers
Several people have expressed interest in the confirmation curriculum I am developing. While part of it is my own creation, much of it is a product of the Mustard House Project, of which I am just one part.
Comprehension Exercises
Comprehension Exercises are my design and are now complete. If you would like to download the existing ones, they are available at our 2 confirmation pages: Year 1 and Year 2.
About the CE's
The Defining Terms section aims to resolve the problem of, Whats the point of memorizing when you dont know what it means? Unsheathe your sword gives the student first-hand experience in actually reading the Bible (Exegesis). Getting the Details is the main content of the lesson (Systematics). The Tying it in section is the practical application section. The first part helps the student understand Gods Word as a bunch of connected teachings, not just a list of unrelated subjects. The second part teaches them to stand up for their faith against many of the wrong teachings out there (Apologetics). They will be constantly assaulted with lies told them by cults, society, and the media, and they will need to know not only how to counter these lies, but to respond with the truth. The last section, Whats the Point? intends to give them experience sharing their faith with others, especially their friends, which is the most important skill they could ever learn. (Missions/Evangelism)
If you are interested in getting updates via e-mail when CE's are posted or updated, submit the form below. You will also be notified of updates. Answer keys and the original Word (.doc) files (so you can modify them) will only be available with the CD ROM.
Skits, etc.
The
skits are all complete. (Some may eventually be revised as needed. Fill out
the form above for updates.) While they were written by me, they were written
under the Mustard House
roof. They can be found at the Mustard
House Resources page, along with many other catechetical resources.
The music files have been shelved. Anyone interested in downloading the MIDI or MP3 files can download them freely, and anyone interested in picking up the ball and completing the collection is welcome to, but I will not be doing more. Faith Inkubators has much better quality of the same thing, but theirs are not free (You get what you pay for.), and the translation is slightly different, which is not conducive to memorizing.
Anyone interested in joining the Mustard House Project can do so by filling out the following form:
