The Birth of Jesus

Pictorial Description:

Jesus has been born and placed in a stone manger. Mary and Joseph are nearby. The back of a shepherd with his current staff can be seen in the foreground. The stable itself is made of stone or stucco.

What’s Taking Place:

Jesus has been born in Bethlehem and Mary and Joseph watch over the child with joy. The shepherds have come to see the Savior described to them by the angels. It is a time of joy and wonder.

Symbol:

The Star of David is the symbol of the royal line of King David and of the prophetic lineage of the Messiah. The Star of David calls to mind Jesus’ royal descent and the fact that God has kept His promises and sent us a Savior.
